Here's another odd Dylan pick from me. This one isn't even a song. It's a poem called "Last Thoughts On Woody Guthrie". You can find it on the first disc of "The Bootleg Series, Vols. 1-3 : Rare And Unreleased, 1961-1991 Box Set", which by the way is awesome if you haven't checked it out yet. They should play this poem in high school english classes instead of a majority of the bullshit they feed kids now. When you hear shit like this, it makes you wonder if maybe Bob Dylan is actually one of those aliens Tom Cruise has been talking about. There's no way a normal human can write like this. In twenty days the new bootleg series #7 comes out, I can't wait. Aaron has been jacking off for weeks at the thought of that record and the Martin Scorsese film that comes out on September 20th. Speaking of Aaron, he just left for Japan today. But he hates Japan cuz they don't have heroin and he doesn't like sushi. Bummer huh? If you don't like poems, don't download this. But, roll along with it if you can.

i like this...woody guthrie was obviously dylans biggest influence. at least early on he was.
also theres this new film coming out thats about woody guthrie called "this machine kills fascists" which was the sticker he used to have on his acoustic. which oddly ive been using for a desktop for the past couple weeks cos its a great photo. anyway, the film looks pretty rad from the clip i saw. it talks about how guthrie was not the saint that many may think he was. the film isnt slamming him, it just seems to be taking an honest look at the mans life.

Woah, a poem! Nice switch up from the norm. Bob Dylan is one of like the classic artists/musicians or whatever I haven't got into totally yet. I'm afraid tho I'll like buy one of his cd's then be screwed, cause I'll have fork over the dough for all his the box sets and everything. Speaking of cd's, I just got the new reissue of the first dinosaur jr., dinosaur. Some songs are pretty boss at first, and the others you love after like a few listens, ya know?

I actually did have an English teacher that took one week out of the year to teach nothing but Bob Dylan lyrics and poems to the kids. Smoked a ton of weed, too. Also, he got me into both of the Guthrie's. He was an all around good guy.

I guess Dylan is popular among English teachers, because my English teacher introduced to me Dylan in high school too. He even let me borrow his cds. He said he was spreading the faith.

nice dylan picks so far, but man the power this site has for turning people onto the sweetest music (and a massive thanks for i have experienced a lot from buddyhead too, mainly cause yer gunners fans with brains and there arent too many of us about so i know i can trust you lot) so you should throw up his blind willie mctell from the bootleg series 1-3 (also on the first essential). bar desolation row it is his best tune and therefore one of the greatest songs ever and more people should have the chance to experience it, and yer as good an outlet as any.

i am not sorry to say that i have been listening to the live 66' show, reaing cronicles #1, and watching the new documentary pretty much religiously in the past few weeks.. this shit is like the bible to me, but im not made to feel bad about being a total piece of shit, nor do i feel a need to atone for all my sins.. because i dont give two shits about that .. all who dont know bob dylan, ginsberg, johnny cash, hank williams, woodie guthrie and the rest... i feel no sorrow for them for they only live in ignorance.. and maybe thats bliss.. but not to me
