Honeyhander - "Woolly Mannerisms"
Unlike anything out there today, Honeyhander is a puzzling band which pieces together noise, electro-pop, glitch, and post-punk with a goth rock edge. Think of a Violator-Psychocandy lovechild who went to some fancy Rhode Island art school and came out a perfectionist irate with the world. This is him bitchin' for 16 minutes, but its actually enjoyable to listen to. Picking up where new wave left off, Woolly Mannerisms oddly make you wanna dance, bang your head, and wonder how the hell you're gonna them out of your head.

what the fuck is "glitch"?

Chazz: For all you care, our record could be Pip farting on a snare drum.
Pip: I ain't fartin' on no snare drum.

I'm not really digging this track, but that cover art is the bee's knees.

"Honeyhander is a puzzling band which pieces together noise, electro-pop, glitch, and post-punk with a goth rock edge."
Are you their publicist??? that sentence stinks of shitty-bio-itis I'm really sick of reading "this band adds this and this and this to create their NEW, SOUND" what it is, really, is a stew. a SHIT STEW! Also, anytime a description of a band mentions "goth rock edge" it means "wears eyeliner" you could be playing polka, throw on some eyeliner, and you have a "goth rock edge"(and dude up front in that pic is totally wearing eyeliner)
Remember when orgy came out? and the press was like "these guys use synths... ON THEIR FUCKING GUITARS... HOLY SHIT!!! they are a mix of nu-metal and disco, with a goth rock edge" remember?? remember??
heres a quote from their myspace, apparently from "anthem":
"It had Cure-esque qualities, but there was more of The Faint's goth-dancepunk in the mix."
yeah...remember when everyone was like "orgy is the new cure"
The old' "head" has never let me down, but this time I had to speak up.
sincerely

P.S. Put up some text mp3s
P.P.S. "Puzzling" is shitty publicist lingo for "fucking blows"
Also, while I'm at it, I'll solve your puzzle : Honeyhander is trying to fuck goth-sluts while at the same time, not ruin their chance with nu-new-wave-sluts. We've all been guilty of one or the other, I guess, so I can't really blame them.

forgot to mention:
listen to psychic tv if you really need some sort of goth/dance/pop/noise hybrid

Why are you ranting? If the description doesn't appeal to you, then don't fucking download it.
P.S. Who gives a shit if he wears eyeliner?
P.P.S. No one cares about Orgy.
Get over it and move on. Is the whole universe supposed to appeal to your particular tastes?

I've heard better, that's for sure. They are a lot better than Orgy though. But since you brought up RISD, I really wish Talking Heads would get back together and tour.

responding to a rant with a quirp, how appropriate.
My real dissatisfaction was with the fact that it seemed like it was written in the style of a very poor press release, rather than the more personal historic background and opinion that I'm used to from this site.
phrases like "unlike anything out there today" "Picking up where (insert restro style here) left off" etc... it just seems like a uniform "promo company" vernacular, and does little to really describe the music(regardless of wether or not it's lackluster...we can't all like the same noise I guess)

Hey Ponyboy... if you don't like the way people on this site write... DON'T READ IT! It's a pretty simple idea. Then we don't gotta read your shitty rants. Instead you should put your energy into starting your own site so we can see how rad it is when you write about music you like dorkus.
By the way, this isn't English Literature class, it's music fans sharing music they like FOR FREE. If you wanna read well written shit, GO PICK UP A NOVEL POSER!
