Queens of the Stone Age - Sick Sick Sick
Here's a little song called "Sick, Sick, Sick" that just so happens to be the first single from the new Queens of the Stone Age record that they're calling "Era Vulgaris". I dunno what "Era Vulgaris" means, but it makes me think of Vagina... which is always a plus. Yes, I am 12. The video features their new bass shredder "Mikey Shoes" from Wires On Fire as well as enough gross shit to make you not wanna eat for the rest of the day. After I saw it the video this morning all I've been able to get down is a couple gallons of French-press coffee and a POM Blackberry Tea. The POM tea is not only a killer drink but you get to keep the glass, which rules for loser bachelors like me. Anyways, back to Queens... what do you guys think of this new song and video? Post your comments, let's hear your reviews!

On a totally unrelated note, this weekend I'm road tripping it up to Big Sur with my friend Sam to see the singer of The Black Crowes, Chris Robinson, perform at The Fernwood with Entrance (click here for the flier), hang out in the woods, go inner tubing and discover our inner-hippies. Anyone else going and getting as weird as we are this weekend? Or do you know of sights we need to make sure and check out while we're up there? Expect to see rad photos of hippies letting their freak flags fly on my Flickr account early next week! You can't stop this party. It can't be done!

Shoes is a nice fit. The video is pretty fuckin' rad as well, but it looks like a blind trannie put Josh's eyeliner on. My predicition is that Era Vulgaris will be tops.

The video is not bad and I really like the song Nice to see a woman in control for once. We ladies like a nice juicy piece of meat every now and then.

qotsa set a whole discussion on fire with their latin. i cant make friends with the weirdos who check online-dictionaries to find out era vulgaris would mean "common era" or "common housewife". in consideration that i read asterix&obelix in latin class at school i kinda see even a chance it means "i was common" or "he/she/it was common". what am i talking about? cant wait to see qotsa live again, the sound of josh voice sounds different. the music is rougher. the video. i would not say "nice to see a woman in control for once".. i think we women have more power than most of us are aware of so lets skip the feministic blahaaa. but i agree on that the video is nice, it makes me smile and wanna vomit..not sure in which order. ha.. but i am SO glad that they are back. and: travis, i wonder how french coffee tastes like - do you already know if you are fine with the buddyhead logo on my shoe? greetz from overseas,yv

Song delivers in full and sounds nice and fresh. Great to hear some new hard stuff from them.
The video is a little too "one-note" and film schooly. I was expecting a NIN "Happiness in Slavery" ending; instead it just falls flat. Liked the bright back lit shots.

You definitely need to check out the Esalen Institute's hot springs. They open them up to the public for something like $10 per person at 2am.
The hot springs are right on the edge of a cliff overlooking the ocean. It is well worth it.
Here is the website

Other than the fact that it sounds exactly like that Foo Fighters song... I like it!

since everyone already commented on the qotsa song, i'll just say that those POM tea glasses rule.

What is 'Sam' the long lost cousin to 'Chris Robinson' cause they have a weird resemblence....

I think that song describes the decadence of humanity : what do we want in 2007 ? sex, fat, sugar......and fucking avril lavigne ? we're goin down the hill, and i hope QOTSA will make the soundtrack of our heart attacks.
And oh, i had the chance to listen to era vaginis : it's fucking good. I think Mr Homme went back to some Beatles shit, especially on the first song.

THIS SONG IS SO FUCKING BORING. QOTSA ARE THE MUSICAL EQUIVALENT OF MUSHROOMS - PRETTY GOOD THE FIRST TIME YOU TOOK THEM (WAY BACK WHEN). BUT AFTER THAT, THEY NEVER HAVE THE SAME APPEAL, AND YOU ONLY DO THEM EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE. EVENTUALLY, THEY JUST GET BORING SO YOU STOP TAKING THEM ALTOGETHER. I HEAR NOTHING ORIGINAL HERE, AND SEE A BAND DESPIRATELY TRYING TO LOOK LIKE AND APPEAL TO YOUNG KIDS. MAYBE THE SINGER OF THE KILLERS CAN GIVE JOSH SOME MASCARRA TIPS

I can't wait for the new album and I'm lovin' the new song, but what the hell with the new video!

I know this almost a completely unrelated note...but I think it's funny how Buddyhead was the cause for leaking the names of the new members of the faux-Smashing Pumpkins. You were even mentioned in Wikipedia for doing so. You were mentioned everywhere! You guys definitely had it on the nose. Guess hanging out with rock stars like QOTSA gets you in the know. See...it wasn't a completely unrelated note. I tied it together in the end. Dig the song, though.

This song rocks, and I like how it sounds like Josh could be singing "666."

i didn't realize gluttony could be so damn sexy. damn kids! now, are they supposed to be playing in her stomach at the end, and that's why she keels over?

Song is meh. But I dig the vid homage to "The Thief, The Cook, His Wife, and Her Lover."

I do like QOTSA, but I do think they are a little overated. When Craig Kilborn or whoever sings monotone for every song they have, it makes me want to drink a bottle of nyquil. Also, their guitar tone reminds me of when I was 15 and I bought the DOD grunge guitar pedal, haha.

qotsa are one of my favorite bands. they got that haunted nursery ryme thing down.
something about this vid reminds me of my teens. most likely because i was overmedicated and constantly thinking about mutilation. but everythings peechy now =P
