This is a site by music fans (and musicians) for music fans. We’ve got a serious itch for good music (as we’re sure you do as well if you’re reading this) and MEDICATION is the scratch (so to speak). Take your medicine kids. Swallow this. What you'll find below is a variety of music hand picked by us and our close friends just for you! Don't you feel special?!?! These songs are only posted for evaluation purposes, so please don’t trip out. We here at “The Head” really love and support well-made music, and make every effort to support the artists we dig on by purchasing their work (we only post shit that we own). The purpose of this site is to simply share good music with others who will also hopefully continue to support these artists. It’s a win-win situation, got it champ? We encourage everyone to purchase music, concert tickets and $47 dollar tour shirts in XXL from the artists you feel merit your dollar bills (if you are gonna listen to something again and again... why not?). We also encourage everyone to never have kids, do drugs & worship Satan though. In other words, if you happen to be one of the fancy-pants that own the copyright to one of these songs and would like a song removed for our site, please don’t sue us. Please just let us know by emailing us at email@example.com. We’re not here too harsh anyone’s mellow. If you are a band, label or distributor and think we'd be interested in your music, please feel free to send us a cd to Buddyhead PO BOX 1268 HOLLYWOOD, CA 90078. Feel free to chew on our nuts too biiiiiiotch!
If you haven't seen the three Josh Freese youtube videos we posted on the new gossip, click here to check them out now. Today Josh posted "Hotel Statement" which is a bonus features type video where he explains why he felt the need to make those videos. Beware... it gets weird.
I really liked the first three records from San Diego's The Black Heart Procession (which were cleverly titled "one", "two" and "three") because they were dark, moody, depressing at times and most importantly... unique sounding. But when they put their last record out, "Amore Del Tropico", it seemed a little too much on the happy side of things for them. I figured the sun, the surf culture or just the lameness that is Sandy Gaygo had finally gotten to them or something. But with this new pack of jams, called "The Spell", it sounds like these dudes have returned from spring break and are back to their old dark and gloomy ways! I've only listen to this record once (so I can't really gage exactly how good it is yet or if I'm even diggin' on it) but I figured some of you out there would be curious to hear what Black Heart has come up with after a four year break since their last sunny release. So here's the song I picked to post here... mainly because the drums sounded cool. Also, check out "Three Mile Pilot" (homeboy's band before this and who are also working on a new album due out next spring) if you start getting down with everything Black Heart...
You can read about this band if you scroll down where I did a formal "first post" about these weird Swedes! Frantic and dangerous punk ala Black Flag, Bad Brains, and Born Against from weird Swedes that never really listened to those bands! Small town frustrations translated to the world stage with a swift kick to your laptop screen. This is just too good... I would post the whole album if I could. I listened to this today loud in my car and remembered my comrade J. Kreinik telling me that when he is on a plane that is hitting turbulence he blasts C.AARME and clenches the armrests!!! Now I want to do that!! Go trade in a bunch of those records that were marketed to you as "punk" and buy the first C.AARME right now! Turn up the beards!
