This is my favorite music video ever. It proves that old theory, "less is more". The song, "Bastards Of Young", also happens to be my favorite song by The Replacements. Sometimes things work out nice kids.
If you've ever had a drink, you'll relate to this killer b-side. It's from a bootleg called "Sucking Wax" that I stole from Das Corpse's house cuz he's on tour GOING OFF and I get to raid his record collection, drink all his Mountain Dews and watch his gay pornos. It's no coincidence that this song is also about going off. Sometimes things work out nice kids. My favorite line from this song is:"Twenty push-ups this morning, that was half my goal, Tonight I'll be doin' pull-ups, On the toilet bowl, And somewhere somebody's throwin up". I thought it didn't fuckin' rain in LA...
That is such an awesome song and video. That whole album is amazing. It's their best of the "normal years" the way "Hootenanny" is the best of the fucked-up years. Thanks for reminding me of the video.

"The ones who love us best are the ones we'll lay to rest
And visit their graves on holidays at best
The ones who love us least are the ones we'll die to please
If it's any consolation, I don't begin to understand them"
So true.

This is my favorite video ever too! I saw it on 120 minutes when I was a wee lad, and the next day I went out and bought Tim. Then, I heard a bit about Minneapolis hardcore, and picked a copy of Zen Arcade up too. These two albums fucking changed my little world(that was sort of convinced that punk rock and shit somehow just involved hair dye). Speaking of the Huskers, youtube also has a rad video of them playing on the Joan Rivers show, and being interviewed by the plasticine freak. Fuckin' wicked.

thanks for the tip off on the vid - it's weird, I'm goin to see Bob Mould at this tiny ass little restaurant (basically a Jewish deli) in VA Beach in a few days - it's not even sold out, what's wrong with people

thanks for turning me onto the replacements. their music kind of makes me nostalgic for a time in my life i'm way too young to have even lived. wearing XL shirts in the early 90's with a bad haircut, talking about how people just don't understand. oh, and being drunk...really drunk. it just reaffirms my love for the twin cities.
