Seeing as how Mike from (Buddyhead's own) Wires On Fire is now the new bass player of Queens Of The Stone Age, I figured I'd keep you all up to date on their soon-to-be-released record.
Here's another short preview from "Era Vulgaris" (check out the first one i posted here), they're not giving away much yet.... but what do you guys think so far? I think Bluby rules! I totally wanna party with Bulby. Post your opinions and expectations! Don't think about it man... Do it!
Also, check out new video from Wires On Fire for their song "Stallions" and then guy their album from Itunes here so Aaron and I can buy cool shit!
QOTSA - The Bulby Video (f.Sick Sick Sick)
Wires On Fire - Stallions
It's pretty tits. I enjoyed Lullibies but only to an extent but I love Sick Sick Sick, 3's&7's and Era Vulgaris eventhough the latter won't be on the CD. I have high hopes for this and glad to see Mike is in the band. With hi does anybody think they can do some of the Nick Olveri tracks that they didn't do live last time?

fuck that shits hot! thats really the extent of it. nothing more, just pure sex with a microphone. Homme is sounding sexier than ever, and I think I splurged in this fan boy moment

Wait. That's the guy from the Strokes singing, isn't it? Anyways, I like the song a lot, and "3's & 7's" is even better. Even though those are the only songs I've heard so far, I definitely have a good feeling about this album. "Rated R" is still the one to beat in my book, but I have faith and hope that J. Homme and company can top it this time. God, I love me some QOTSA.
P.S. Did Mike play bass on the album, or did he join the band after it was recorded?

That song sounds pretty fucking killer. I can't wait til that album comes out. Travis, I don't know if you read these comments but post some of the new Blonde Redhead man, it's so good.

How did Homme manage to sing with Travis crawling all over him like a bee on a flower?
Killer shit.

I'll join the excited masses now, qotsa seem to be unable to put a bad record out. Lullabies was pretty good but i think era sounds like it's going to be even betterer.

Agreed that Rated R is tops, but these guys seem to be putting out one good album after another. The gods have smiled upon them or something because four good albums in a row is pretty damn amazing.

Is Mark Lanegan on this album at all?

i'm not hating on mike, but i really, really wish jesse from death from above 1979 had played bass on era vulgaris, as was the original plan... can you imagine the dynamics? i can only imagine the sexy factor would've been upped to eruption. but era sounds pretty cool... darker and heavier than lullabies so far. the riff from "3's + 7's" is my favorite.

i liked this band when they didnt try to write songs....they just played two riffs for 4 minutes at a time. sounds like they are doing both now. the vocals are annoying.
